Founded in 1989, Metropolitan Ballet Academy is a private ballet and related arts Academy. Dance instruction is available for beginners to advanced levels.

The school’s ballet program is based upon the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance) method. This internationally recognized syllabus is divided into graded and vocational examinations. In the senior ballet division, instruction follows the R.A.D. syllabi. Examinations are available to children (Grade 1-Grade 5) and senior students at Mrs. Walker’s discretion.

Mrs. Eva Walker, owner and artistic director of Metropolitan Ballet Academy & Related Arts, holds teaching certificates from the Royal Academy of Dance and is licensed to enter students into examinations. She has been trained in London, England, U.S.A., and extensively in Toronto. From 1986 until 1988, Mrs. Walker taught in Toronto in such prominent dance schools as Ontario School of Ballet, C.B. Dance Academy and Humber College.

Centrally located, Metropolitan Ballet Academy’s large studio has a sprung wooden floor and mirrors, as well as changing facilities and a viewing room. An accompanist is provided for most ballet classes.
